How to Get to Makry Gialos

• From Ierapetra: A smooth and scenic drive with minimal turns and breathtaking coastal views.
• From Sitia: A route through lush villages, offering a traditional experience. Be sure to roll down your windows when driving from Sitia to Makry Gialos: the road is full of thyme, dittany (erontas), and sagebrush – the scent of the air will captivate you and is perhaps the most characteristic fragrance of Crete.
• From Heraklion Airport or Port: Follow the route Heraklion → Agios Nikolaos → Ierapetra → Makry Gialos. The distance is 125 km, with a driving time of approximately 2 hours.
